The French language workshop (90 minutes or two school hours) is intended for upper-grade students (from 6th grade onwards), where participants (regardless of their level of knowledge) can learn the language through a creative approach, specifically through the use of theater techniques and poetry. This workshop, designed for students in grades 1 through 5, introduces them to the French language in a fun, intuitive, and subtly educational way. Picture books come to life, characters get lost, and must be found. During the workshop (90 minutes), the performer guides the pupils to join her in a game of searching for book characters, communicating in French throughout. The game is most fun when the pupils have no knowledge of the language. This game of skill, in which players practice picking up wooden sticks, can also be turned into a game of poetry. The sticks become word sticks, and the aim of the game is to compose your own poem.
